Every year for the Leikam Hanukkah Craft Market I make a few new things to have them available for holiday sales. All of these will be available for purchase this Sunday (Nov 2).

First, pictured above, is two new Sluggakiahs, for those who want a more Pacific Northwest note to their festival of lights celebration.

I've made a few new syrup birds for your brunching pleasure.

Since I needed a new crock for our 20-year-old San Francisco sourdough, I made a couple extra to sell.

Now, I realize it's totally the wrong time of year for this, but I also needed a new wine chiller for the back patio, and thought that other folks might want one as well. So there will be 3 on sale.

And, of course, there's always mugs:

I have new salt monsters in my shop! Meet Oggie, Kilroy, Champ, and Wadjet.

Like my previous salt monsters, these four are there to hold your coarse salt next to the stove so that you can pinch and fling it into your cooking food, like a video chef. Or you can use the provided tongue-spoon to be a bit more measured about it. Whatever you like; salt monsters don't judge.

New cat mugs! Specifically, I'm launching my line of Chonky Cat Mugs, designed to be even more cute and comfortable to drink from than my prior cat mugs.

Since this is a Hanukkah sale, I will of course have Hannukiahs (often called "menorahs") available for purchase. With candles!

I will once again be selling my pottery at Leikam Brewing's Holiday Craft Fair, on November 27th. Not only will you be able to get mugs & slugs & bowls & birds from me, but this year there will be two other ceramic artists. So visit Leikam and fulfill your holiday gift-giving needs with some local Portland handicrafts.

This is one of the few art/craft shows where you can drink tasty local microbrews while you shop. And it's the only one where you can drink kosher beers while you shop for Hanukkah gifts. So drop by!

As a Jew from an observant family (although I'm not), I noticed that there don't seem to be any other Portland area potters making Judaica for sale. So I figured I'd fix that. Having borrowed some designs from my mother, I now have a few things on offer for fellow members of the Tribe, starting with the sale at Leikam Brewing this Sunday.

On the left are travel shabbos candleholders. These are to bring with you any time you're visiting somewhere over the sabbath or other holidays, and need to light candles. I made some of these for my parents, and they've been useful enough that I made some for sale.

In the center is a hand-washing pitcher, which seems super-appropriate given the times. During the handwashing ritual preceding meals, you're supposed to pour water from one hand to the other while saying the prayer. This double-handled pitcher makes it natural to smoothly rinse your hands while saying your "al nitilat yadaim".

I also have mezzuzah covers, both with and without banana slugs. These are ready for you to insert a scroll from your chosen synagogue or yeshiva, and screw securely to your doorframe.

Meet the SpoonLu!

I like to cook, and that means that I also like making pottery for cooking. While I make many bits of "chefware", among the simplest, yet the most useful are spoonrests. I started out making sluggy spoonrests.

But, I wanted to make a special spoonrest as a gift for some friends. So I modeled it after their long-haired black cat, Lucifer. He's friendly, and wide enough for a ladle or spider. Of course, I made extras, and I have them for sale on my store.

I will be participating in Ceramic Showcase Online next weekend, from April 30th to May 2nd. Since we can't hold Showcase in person this year, we're doing an online exhibition. This is actually good for me, because I rarely can participate in the onsite version due to work travel! So for once you get to see my stuff there.

Several years ago I was exhibiting at Cole Valley Fair, and noticed that a lot of kids looked at my adult cat mugs but at $40 each they couldn't afford them. And so my first litter of Kitten Cups was born.

These cups are modelled on my own cat Wayne's fuzzy black face and yellow eyes.

Now, because I made these specifically for kids, I don't sell them in my online store and they have special pricing: adults pay $16, but if you're 12 or under you pay only $8. I'll have a litter of six kitten cups at the OPA Holiday Sale this Saturday.

Wanna see what I've been up to in the studio for the last 6 months, and what I'm firing now that I have access to a cone 10 kiln again? Then join us at the 2019 Oregon Potters Assocation Holiday Sale. It'll be "Small Business Saturday" (and Sunday) right after Thanksgiving, in the Multinomah Arts Center in SW Portland.

This is the first holiday sale that OPA has done in years, and was organized by me, Sharon, Rebecca, Emily, and Halima. We'll have 32 exhibiting artists with an amazing range of functional and decorative work. We'll also have holiday music and Lebanese sesame donuts. Plus a pottery giveaway every hour!

These Kitten Cups and I will be at the Clayfolk Show & Sale starting this Friday. There's only six little kitten cups, though, and five adult Cat Mugs, so if you want to secure one, make sure to be there Friday night!

FuzzyChef Pottery will have a set of shelves in the Group Booth at the show. If you want to find me, though, I'll probably be working the checkout line.

The ClayFolk Show & Sale is November 17, 18 and 19 at the Medford Armory in Southern Oregon.

I will be selling pottery at the Cully Harvest Fair on October 8th. The Fair is from noon to 4pm, on 42nd Ave. between Prescott and Killingsworth in NE Portland. Among other things, I will be selling seven of my well-known cat mugs:

The Cole Valley Fair is possibly the only local-artisans-only street fair in the city. Instead of the typical mass-produced-chatchkis and burnt-sausage-on-a-stick, the CVF as artists (like me) and local organizations. It has stuff for kids, too, so bring your family. And get some art!

In one week four or more of the artists from The Clay Underground will be having a little First Thursday event at our studio.
